1st shots of this years photographic course, which says "Professional" in the title so here we go and improving, hopefully, along the way.....

Artwork number 1 is a 6th generation copy of an artist whose work I am re-visiting - Ian Price; a prolific painter for numerous years up until his untimely death in early 1986. Ian photographed and then painted scenes all over Cheshire, South Manchester, The Peak District and Derbyshire.
At the time his work was very much sort after. I wish to retrace his footsteps throughout this years course to re-capture the same shots today. This should show a minimum 25 years of history, capturing all the changes, the building's, either, degradation or enhancement, the foliage felled, grown or added to. (The time of year will be depicted in the deciduous trees and shrubs if not in the weather i.e. snow etc.).
Ian never sold any of his work whilst he was alive, except for his commissions, but after his death most of the family moved to Devon, so his entire works were auctioned off in the areas they were painted.
The capture you see first of all and ongoing throughout this year, was photographed on a flat bed or maybe scanned from the original (as yet I don't know but will endeavour to find out) for litho printing (fine art prints, calendars, greeting cards etc..) this is my original, a thumbnail copy of that litho four colour separation (cyan, magenta, yellow and Black).
I have re-scanned, enlarged and enhanced to produce a 'working copy' to exhibit along with my interpretation of the original capture.
So that's 1) Original. 2) scan/flatbed. 3) four plate separation. 4) thumbnail. 5) re-scan, enlarge, enhancement. 6) reduce to jpeg from tiff in Lightroom then upload to my blog site.
Shot number 1 - 1st attempt It was a conscious decision at the time to loose the road to the right and also gain the extra foliage to the left. I did, at the time, leave enough image to change my mined in post editing, this was also the case for the road in front of the entrance which, unfortunately, is now all yellow hatched.
Ian Price's shot was right for the time but inappropriate for today, the deciduous tree's show very well the difference in the time of year but in my opinion do not detract from the overall image. . I will re-shoot in the summer for comparison reasons only.
